Highline Physical Therapy ASTYM Highline Physical Therapy ASTYM

Your doctor may recommend a splint following an upper extremity injury. Prefabricated splints can be purchased over the counter. Our occupational therapists (OTs) are trained in making recommendations for the best splint to meet your needs. They are also proficient in the fabrication of custom splints.

Our OTs at Highline Physical Therapy use low-temperature plastic material to custom fit each individual. Splints are helpful if there is limited joint motion and can assist in correcting or reducing deformity. They also play a role in the appropriate positioning of joints during healing after a traumatic injury
