What is Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapy is a highly interactive treatment aimed at restoring optimal physical function, preventing onset and/or slowing the progression of conditions resulting from trauma, injury, illness or deconditioning.

People of all ages can benefit from Physical Therapy. Some common reasons for having Physical Therapy include functional impairments resulting from back and neck injuries, sprains/strains and fractures, arthritis, stroke and injuries related to work and sports.

Patients receive education on movement, body mechanics, posture, and home exercise. They may receive hands-on treatment and modalities, as part of an individualized treatment plan.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is a skilled treatment that helps individuals achieve independence in all facets of their lives. When strength, motion or skill cannot be developed or improved, Occupational Therapy offers creative solutions and accommodations for carrying out daily activities.

People of all ages can benefit from Occupational Therapy. Some common reasons for having Occupational Therapy include work-related injuries, limitations following surgery, stroke, arthritis, sprains/strains or fractures, and hand injuries.

Patients receive a customized treatment program, and may receive, as appropriate, evaluations of home or job environments. They may receive assessment of and treatment for work performance skills, and training in use of adaptive equipment.

What You Need to Know about Billing/Insurance

We have a highly trained and experienced billing staff. Prior to your first appointment, every effort will be made to verify your therapy benefits and a form detailing your particular benefits will be filed in your chart.

Our billing office bills out claims three times weekly for most insurance companies, monthly for Medicare and weekly for all others. You will receive a monthly statement itemizing any personal responsibility you may have, along with an itemization of any activity from your insurance company.

Many insurance plans have limits on therapy services, either dollar limits or visit limits. We strongly suggest you ask your insurance company about these limits. We will help you track the limits, however it is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to not exceed them.

The billing office is available for questions Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Please call 253-874-2998 and they will be happy to assist you.
